Signing in

One Open Beekeeping account signs you in to every Open Beekeeping app, and to other beekeeping apps that choose to use it.

You sign in with a passkey: the fingerprint, face or PIN you already use to unlock your phone or computer. There is no password to remember, reuse or leak.

The first time you sign in, and if you lose access to your passkeys, we email you a link instead.

When an app asks you to sign in for the first time, you’ll see what it wants to know about you and choose whether to allow it. Apps can ask for:

  • Your email address
  • Your name
  • Your beekeeping associations: the associations you’ve told us you belong to. Each association’s own membership records stay the official ones.

You approve each app once.

Your account stores who you are: your email, your name, your associations, your passkeys and where you’re signed in. Everything else, such as your association’s records, is kept by the app that uses it.
