What OpenBKA does

OpenBKA helps beekeeping associations (BKAs) look after their members and records. It’s open source, and you can either host it yourself or use the hosted version at openbka.org.

Members sign in with their Open Beekeeping account. OpenBKA has no passwords or login forms of its own; it keeps each person’s account ID, email and name.

Member data is stored in Cloudflare’s EU jurisdiction, so it never leaves the EU. That suits UK and EU associations under (UK) GDPR.

  • Hosted: openbka.org runs OpenBKA for you.
  • Self-hosted: run your own copy on a free Cloudflare account. See Self-hosting.

OpenBKA is licensed under the AGPL-3.0-or-later. If you run a modified version as a service for others, you must make your source available to its users.
